In a privileged setting just minutes from the medieval city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, Domaine de Calvayrac is an ideal place for a quiet stay, for exploring the Cathar country, Carcassonne, castles, medieval villages, abbeys, vineyards, and to share conviviality and gastronomy around the guest table.
The name « Calvayrac » has its roots in the 13th century, a period tormented by the Dominican terror, the Albigensian Crusade. South-west of Carcassonne, the hills of the Malepere then belonged to the monks of the Chapter of Montroyal , now the village of Montreal Aude.
The Domaine de Calvayrac is 17 km from Carcassonne and his Medieval City, in the Malepère, an unspoilt nature where quiet hills appreciate its streams, green oaks forests, lavish vineyards and lush meadows. The region is classified NATURA 2000 - Region recognized importance of flora and fauna by Europe for the quality of its unique environment.
In the west wing of the house are the three charming guest rooms, in a quiet and resting environment. The decor reflects the atmosphere of serenity of Calvayrac. Each room has a separate entrance and a private bathroom.
The evening, after a day spent to exploring the thousand treasures
of the Cathar country, you can relax with a walk in the
domaine, or take an aperitif in the shade of the park
before you sit around the guest table.
On sunny days, the table will be set in the
garden, or inside to enjoy the freshness
of the large living room.
